Well after a 2 week hiatus I’m back in the saddle, having no wheels for the bike was the reason for this. Unfortunately the bearing and rims were worn out on the wheels which facilitated a new set of wheels which took a little time to get the right parts for my bike. They just arrived yesterday so I was able to get back out today Back to the usual bun run route due to everyone being in the same tier. A gentle start in the saddle today, it was a windy one with some rain and sunshine but not too cold.

So last weekends cycling was a washout due to the adverse weather conditions, so I didn’t cycle at all last week. We pick it up this week and although it’s very fogy the weather is fine, little wind and not too cold. There were 6 of us today and we did the usual loop without stopping so it was an avg 15 mph today, a steady pace to get back into the swing of things

So its the first ride with the club since getting back from holiday and today there was only 2 of us. Considering the weather was on, a little windy but dry I was surprised there wasn’t more people out today. So given there was only 2 of us we went the usual Sunday route and stopped at the café for coffee and cake We did the usual 50 miles and an avg speed of 15 mph, we’ll see how things turn out next week when the local lockdowns relax.
Ride 16/10/2020 Southend on Sea
So whilst down visiting my sister I decided to ride to Southend on Sea which I haven’t done in a good 35 years. It’s bit of a dull day and not particularly warm but it’s a flat route compared to the usual rides I do. 65 miles clocked up and a sedate speed of 15 mph

Today was a good weather day sunshine and little wind with no rain. So again it’s an easterly ride and again its around Loch Leven with 8 of us in the group today, thanks to the fine weather. A slightly different route than yesterdays but also a little shorter by 3 miles but I was faster than yesterday with an avg speed of over 16 mph.
Ride 10/10/2020
Well with half of the central belt under lockdown we couldn’t ride west like we would normally do so it was a easterly route today. So basically we started up over Knockhill and then did a loop around Loch Leven with me splitting from the group at Kelty to finish over Hill of Beath and home.

Thankfully today was a better day, it was still raining when I left the house this morning but after about an hour it had stopped. Again there were 4 of us today so we could stop at the café for coffee and cake today In the last hour of the ride the sun had decided to come out so it turned into a pleasant day for cycling.

It’s a very veeeerrrry wet day! and even with my wet gear on I got soaked to the bone after 3 hours cycling in it. I was surprised that anyone else joined but today we had 4 of us So from the get go it poured it down and didn’t stop so we decided to stop at the cafe today since there was only 4 of us but we were all soaked by the time we got there. Coffee and scrambled egg roll were consumed which lead to 4 puddles under each of us ;-D but I’m not sure if it helped or hindered stopping cos starting up again was painful. I was wet and cold and the coffee hadn’t warmed me up and I was putting wet gear back on after we stopped. It took a good 30 mins of cycling to get a little heat in me so we decided to take the shortest route home, I was seriously glad to have a hot shower by the time I got back home. Not a particularly fast ride today but given the weather conditions I’m not surprised and because my vector pedal batteries were flat not much data to see either.
Ride 27/09/2020
Another sunny very cold day and quite surprisingly there were 12 of us today which is the largest Sunday ride group I’ve seen in a long time. Usual route today over knockhill first and down to Dollar heading to coalsnaughton but the group split at this point as some went for a cafe stop and the rest of us carried on. Didn’t bother with the cafe stop as there are too many of use to fit into the cafe and stick to the new COVID 19 rules. It also means I get home quicker for a hot shower and lunch, and just in time to watch the last hour of the World cycling championships
Ride 26/09/2020
Well it’s a sunny day but OMG it’s cold! full bike gear, 3 layers on time. About 10 of us today which means no cafe stop and I even got a puncture Some quick stops to fix puncture and grab a bite to eat and the ride was over. Nothing too fast today so about avg speed as always.
Ride 20/09/2020
On a dull slightly damp day 6 of us turned up for the Sunday bun run, the winds are light and no rain forecast for the day. It was another no stop day due to COVID restrictions but not a big deal, I did stop at Kincardine to eat an energy bar but that was about it. Not too shabby an avg speed of 16 mph today although I did go a slightly different route home and went up the hill from Inverkeithing to Crossgates which gave me a little bit more mileage that usual.
Ride 19/09/2020
With the new COVID measures starting this week the bun run today was a different affair. With 11 of us riding we would be doing the route without stopping due to the new restrictions. This didn’t bother me as I’m used to it so it was a straight run around the loop today back home about 30 min earlier than usual
