Another cold day just above freezing but at least there was 3 of us on todays ride. Nothing too eventful today did the loop at my usual 15 mph for the 50 mile ride the only difference being the weather which was fogy and cloudy for most of the day with a few sunny spells here and there.

Another one of those very bright sunny blue sky days but bitterly cold to start with and remained cold, around 1-2 degrees, for the rest of the ride. About 10 of us today doing the bun run, first event of the day was some bike rider getting knocked of his bike by a car on the roundabout just at Cairneyhill. Not someone I new but some of the other riders knew him, I think someone said he was a member of the club, either way he was taken to hospital, from the gossip I heard it wasn’t too bad and the rider was ok in the end. After the cafe stop I was leading the way home, we decided to skip out knockhill due to the icy conditions and go up Saline hill instead. I went up that pretty damn fast hence the 199 bpm which resulted in me keeping my 16 mph avg for this ride

Nearly forgot to post this Bit of a mixed bag day weather wise, rain, wind and blinding sun light. Quite a few more turned up that I expected given the weather, there were 10 of us today. I started at the bag of the group and got covered in spray so after the cafe stop I decided to lead the way back home, still had to was my rain coat though

Another cloudy mild day on the bun run, today we had 5 of us. Things were going fine after the cafe stop in Dollar until one of the guys broke 2 rear wheel spokes which of course resulted in a buckled wheel. We managed to free of the sticking brake and Robert was able to cycle back at a slower pace so today’s ride was eventful but not particularly fast.

First ride of the new years and it was a big group we had this morning, so much so we had to split into 2 groups. I’m guessing the “new years resolution” guys will eventually fade away until we are back to the regulars. Weather wise it was another mild day with a bit of wind around but nothing too drastic as we still managed to do an avg speed of 15 mph today.
Ride 01/01/2020
First ride of 2020 and although it was a short ride it was a bit of a sprint ride. The weather for today is a bit better than yesterday, I wasn’t freezing my arse off and with it being overcast the temps were a bit higher which allowed me to go faster. I did a small loop around Dunfermline with the intention of getting an avg power of around 200 watts which I did So 18 miles clocked up at an avg speed of 17 mph, good start for the year
Ride 31/12/2019
Another very cold stupidly bright sunny day, it barely got above freezing this morning but I wanted to get another ride before the end of the year So for 2019 I’ve clocked up 5637 miles over 105 activities and staggeringly I’ve managed to climb up 293684 feet of elevation which seems a bit mad to me. I would never have guessed at doing that amount of climbing but I suppose that’s what I get for living in a hilly country
Ride 29/12/2019
Another very mild day today, warmer than yesterday around 8-9 degrees so much so that even though I wasn’t riding particularly hard I was getting quit sweaty. 6 of us on the bun run today thankfully the usual cafe stop was open today so no detour. We actually spent quite some time in the cafe stop where I had cake and coffee for no particular reason just did. This did have the affect of making me not get home until after 14:00 so it’s a very late lunch for me. 50 miles clocked up at an avg speed of 15 mph which means this year I’ve clocked up just over 5600 miles
Ride 28/12/2019
For Dec today’s temps were high in my opinion around 7-8 degrees which meant that I was quite warm on today’s ride, surprising given I was freezing on the boxing days ride :-? Anyway I was glad of this as we weren’t riding particularly fast, my overall avg speed barely made 15 mph. We also did the wrecking crews bun run route today as our usual cafe stop was closed today which made today’s ride a little bit longer than the norm
Boxing day 2019
So I was out with the club today on their annual boxing day ride, about 20 people turned up so we split into 2 groups. The ride was a cut down version of the Sunday ride skipping out Dollar and the cafe stop. A slightly slower ride today than yesterday and the weather wasn’t as good but still worth doing to keep the bloat at bay
Christmas day 2019
What a glorious day to go cycling it’s bright and sunny and not too cold about 1 degree or so with very little wind around. I decided to cycle my Kirkcaldy loop which I haven’t done a while. It’s short enough to get around in a couple of hours, to get back home for lunch but challenging enough to give me a little workout I extended it by 5 miles, usually it’s only 25 mile long but it was such a nice day I wanted a slightly longer run. So I clocked up 33 miles with an avg speed of 15 mph. I’ll be cycling with the club tomorrow on their usual boxing days ride so this will keep me in good stead for that
Ride 22/12/2019
Bit of an interesting ride today, started out raining so I wasn’t expecting many to turn up if anyone but eventually there were four of us to start the ride. Unfortunately one of the guys got a puncture about 3 miles out so our first stop was to fix that. Then about 100 meter from the top of knockhill the same guy who got the puncture had his tire explode which was quite shocking cos it was bloody loud! Unfortunately Graeme;s tyre had a split in it and the inner tube was bulging out of it. We managed to patch his tyre up enough for him to get down the hill and back to his car. So three of us continued on thankfully it had stopped raining by this point and it’s a mild day so we were able to get the full ride done without any more dramas
