So it’s a nice sunny day today but still windy, but rather than ride into the wind on the way home I rode into it on my outbound leg and then had it pushing me home so it’s a better ride than last week

Ride 08/08/2015 Falkirk to St Andrews
So the weather forecast for Saturday isn’t too bad, sunny with cloud later on, warm and WINDY!!! now not really windy, about 12 mph but enough to make me a very sore man :-(. Anyhow I though I would ride to St Andrews today, haven’t done that in a year so it was about due up. It took me 2 hours 45 min to ride the 55 miles to St Andrews but over 4 fucking hours to ride the 60 miles back home. Head winds are just so evil they kill all my energy reserves and make the ride home a tough one, I even ran out of water 15 miles from home which I’ve never done before, anyway 113 miles clocked and now I’m shattered.

Another wet and wind day
Ride 25/07/2015 Edinburgh & Stirling
Well it was an eventful day, 5 miles out I sheared off my inner tube valve as I was trying to pump the tyre up. Noticed I was running on bold tyres, but decided to risk it as the bike is in for it’s service in 10 days time. 65 miles out I was riding in a monsoon my wet gear didn’t stand a chance but I was only 10 miles from home so just kept riding, I was a drount rat by the time I got home, where did the summer go???
Ride 18/07/2015 Cumbernauld Loop
Stupidly windy day!!
Ride 11/07/2015 Strathallan loop
Took a ride up to Strathallan park to see T in the Park, place was mobbed as usual and I couldn’t see very much as it’s all hidden behind trees are barriers. A little windy and cloudy today and a lot of hill climbing but it was a short ride so no big deal
Ride 05/07/2015 Forth Loop
Quick ride around the forth this morning before the storms hit this afternoon. Got stung twice for my efforts >:-( one of these being right between my eyes Hope the cunty insect died on impact.
Ride 04/07/2015 Evans cycles
Well after this mornings thunder storms I didn’t get out to ride until after 14:00 so decided to ride to Glasgow to evans cycles and book my bike in for it’s service before I do the LEJOG. Caught the train home as it was close to dinner time and I wouldn’t get home until after 18:00 if I cycled it.
Ride 27/06/2015 Faslane Loop
Well after 108 miles of cycling I don’t feel too bad, tired, slightly sore neck but all in all better than I was expecting for such a long ride. Anyway decided to ride to Garelochhead which is just past Faslane Naval base, hadn’t been this far west before and I wanted to ride against the prevailing wind and then have it pushing me home again. Not too bad a ride, not too hilly and not too flat, especially as I was cycling over towards Loch Lomond which required me to cycle over some big hill. Weather was ok, cloudy but warm and that westerly wind, but my stupid garmin dropped my sensors again >:-( and I didn’t see this as I was following the map. Giving some serious thoughts on replacing it.

Ride 29/06/2013 by Paul Lund at Garmin Connect – Details.
K-N-A-C-K-E-R-E-D! The first 40 miles was with a 12 mph head behind me but of course the second i turned around to head back home I was screwed. 40 miles with a 12 mph in my face. Bad idea to ride in that, I was forced to use my emergency energy rations which I have never had to do in the 2 and a half years that I’ve been riding just to get me home and I nearly didn’t make it. I’m going to pay a hefty price for this one
