Today was the clubs usual Boxing day ride, and like last years one it was around the Forth over the 2 bridges. I was quite surprised that 18 of us turned up, that’s not the norm, but given the fine weather we’ve had this week I could see why. Rather than splitting into 2 groups like we normally would, we went as one big group. The roads were very quite that early in the morning so we headed for Kincardine bridge and the Kelpies for our planned cafe stop. At the Kelpies I had coffee and cake and since we had ridden the northern side of the river first our journey back would take us through Grangemouth and Bo’ness, the south side of the river along to South Queensferry where we would cross over the Forth Road bridge and then split our separate ways to head home. Once over the bridge I headed for Dalgety bay and up and over mill farm road which would take me directly home. So 46 miles clocked up at an avg speed of 17 mph, given the short flat ride this speed was expected.
